Due to the purpose that this model had been developed for, we cannot expect a sport application. This model provides competition to a 2”revolver or slim subcompact pistol. The advantage is the magazine capacity, which is 7+1 and primarily, its “flatness”.
The weapon is completely adjusted to a concealed carry wear. The greatest asset of this weapon is already mentioned - the 0.78 inch width - allowing an unobtrusive fit in a proper holster. The gun has an abnormal frame for a 1911, the frame underwent a number of modifications (slide, barrel , barrel lock and ejector , external extractor etc.). The STI Ls is categorized as a subcompact gun with a single-stack magazine, structurally based on the concept of 1911. Even as the low-end (the cheapest model of producer), this model is treated as a typical STI model, precision machining and high quality material. Production was stopped approx. three years ago. STI replaced LS models by Tactical SS, Duty One , Lawman, Escort, Shadow and Elektra already structurally subcompact models in line of 1911.
The grip is short, and much will depend on the size of shooter hands. Shooter with big fingers will be forced to hold it only with two fingers ,without the little finger.
Operation is seamless thanks to the surface of the slide,yet the weapon is very accurate. This is because of the great Heine sights. Perhaps it's full 1911 caliber 9mm Luger from category 3” is not able to score so precisely.
